In a previous post, I told you you about the importance of "Creating multiple streams of residual income". But one one question people usually ask me is "Where do I start from?" Or " how do I start?" And this is the main reason I decided to come up with this post. In this post I will be introducing you the the greatest income stream of all times, Network Marketing.
Hey! Did I trigger your emotions by the term network marketing? I have observed that this is the case with most people. They immediately get tensed up when they hear that term. But little do they know that they do marketing every day without being paid. The moment you told your friend where you bought your phone or did your hair cut, you are actually marketing that shop yet without being paid for it. Network Marketing is just a way to reward that your marketing efforts.
Personal Experience
Let me give you a personal experience if you don't mind. During my National Diploma, I was to go for a four month Industrial Attachment which was to cost #10,000. Small amount of money right? But I wasn't having it and there was no one I could go to for help. So I decided to visit some of the local firms to which I could apply. I told them my story and asked for their help, but they all turned me down except one of the firms called "Resplendent". The C.E.O of the firm, haven heard my story said "Young man, I can't coach you for free. But I have a business idea for you." He added by saying "I will pay you 30% commission on any referrals you will bring to us. I will also pay you a bonus of 20% on any referrals of your referrals."
Wao! That was great isn't it? I quickly took the idea and start working. And though I never knew then that I was doing marketing, I was able to earn not just the #10,000 for my trainings but also a few other cash for my feeding and warfare during the period. Isn't that great? This was how Networking became born in me and since then I have been into the industry and doing well.
A Broader Example
Take a broader example. Have you ever been to a bookstore to buy books? Sure you have. Let's call it "Textbook". Assuming you told your friend about the bookstore ( which is usual) and your friend went went there to buy books too. But the sales boy at the bookstore asked her how she heard about them and then she mentioned your name.
How would you feel if the owner of "TextBook" sent you a 'thank-you' note with a free free book and $10 bill along side? Sure you will feel great. Let's also say that the bookstore owner also explained in the note that for every of your friends who will come to patronise the store, they will not only give you a free book but that you will also earn 12% of whatever amount your friend spends in the bookstore. Wouldn't that be wonderful? I'm sure you'll be be very excited to tell your friends about it.
ABC of Network Marketing
That is the ABC of network marketing. What? Were you thinking that network marketing is about going about from house to house to sell products that nobody needs? My dear it isn't like that. Gone are the days when distributors would fill their garages with products that they don't even need and then look for who to sell them to. Those were the developing ages of network marketing.
We are in the wave-three revolution of network marketing my dear. Now you don't even have to leave your home before you can earn. All you need do is buy products or services which you need and love from the company, tell your friends about your experience with this product or service and if they want to buy, you just connect them with the company and that's it. You have your check rolling in.
Referrals of Your Referrals
Another mind blowing fact about network marketing is that you also earn from the referrals of those your friends whom you referred. What this means is that if your friend whom you referred to the company also refer other of her friends who eventually buys from the company, you will also be paid. Remember my personal experience. I also earned 20% of the referrals of those whom I referred. You don't have to be aware of the transaction but the system will automatically capture it. Isn't that what we call residual stream of income? Sure.
